All-on-6 dental implants in Luton and Bedford

All-on-6 implants provide a lasting solution for anyone wanting to replace an entire row of teeth, offering a stable and permanent alternative to removable dentures. Dr Uzman Haq, an award-winning dental implantologist, offers All-on-6 dental implants across multiple clinics in Luton, Bedford, and the surrounding area.

What are All-on-6 dental implants?

All-on-6 implants are a modern replacement treatment for lost, damaged, or failing teeth. As the name suggests, they are similar to ‘All-on-4 dental implants’,which Dr Uzman also offers. However, All-on-6 involves placing 6 titanium implants in the jawbone rather than 4. The extra implants provide  extra stability and are longer-lasting than traditional dentures. When properly cared for, All-on-6 dental implants can last for 20 or 30 years.

Why choose All-on-6 dental implants?

As well as All-on-Six, Dr Uzman offers All-on-Four implants, implant-retained dentures and single implants. However, while all achieve excellent results, there are a number of reasons which make All-on-6 an ideal solution for many patients.
Stronger Support

Six dental implants add much more strength, spreading the pressure when you bite or chew across 6 implants. This reduces the stress on each implant and protects your jaw.

Implants Protect Your Bone

Six implants will help to keep your jawbone healthy. Teeth naturally stimulate the jawbone when you chew, and more implants will help the bone stay more active over time.

Added Stability

With six implants, your new teeth will feel very secure. This will give you peace of mind when you eat or speak - if one implant fails, five others will continue to support your teeth.

Natural Look And Feel

All-on-6 dental implants will give you a beautiful, natural-looking smile. Your new crowns look and feel exactly like natural teeth, and some patients find that All-on-6 creates a more comfortable, tighter fit when biting.

The All-on-6 implants procedure

1

Initial Consultation and Assessment

Your implant journey will begin with imaging, including X-rays and 3D scans of your mouth. This helps us to assess your bone structure and density, and start to plan your implant treatment.

2

Surgery

Dr Uzman will place 6 titanium implants in your upper or lower jaw. This minimally invasive procedure will be done under sedation or local anaesthetic for your comfort. Usually, four implants will be placed in front, and two at the back.

3

Temporary Bridge

A temporary bridge is fitted in your mouth to allow the implant sites to heal. These temporary teeth are fully functional, letting you eat and speak normally during the recovery.

4

Final Restoration

Over the course of approximately 6 months, the bone gradually heals and fuses with the implants in a process called osseointegration. Once this is complete, the temporary bridge can be removed and your final crowns placed, giving you a natural-looking, fully functional smile.

Before and after all-on-6

This patient came to us with multiple failing fillings and crowns, with several teeth beyond saving and requiring extraction. We were able to provide a full set of fixed teeth on the very same day the failing teeth were removed, restoring both function and confidence immediately.

Frequently asked questions

How much do All-on-6 dentures cost in the UK?

The price of All-on-6 dental implants will vary depending on the complexity of your treatment, and might also depend which practice you visit. Usually, implants by Dr Uzman start from £1300; for the exact cost, please book a consultation here.

All-on-6 implants are not suitable for everyone, but they do offer a durable, long-term solution for patients who have suffered significant tooth loss or problems with their dentures. To be an ideal candidate, you do need enough bone density to support six implants, and be in general good health, with healthy gums and good oral hygiene.

All-on-6 implants are sometimes recommended for people who grind their teeth or need additional stability for their teeth due to a heavy bite.

If you are not suitable for All-on-6 implants, we do offer alternatives such as All-on-4, implant-retained dentures and single-tooth implants.

All-on-6 dental implants involve the placing of 6 titanium dental implants on one or both jaws, and all-on-four dental implants involve 4. While both are successful, all-on-6 implants have the benefit of more evenly distributing pressure on the implants.

The recovery process for All-on-6 implants has two main phases.

The first is the immediate recovery phase after surgery, which takes one to two weeks. During this time, you may experience some soreness and sensitivity around your implant site. If you can, try to avoid eating harder foods, and use over-the-counter pain medication such as paracetamol if needed.

The second phase is known as osseointegration, which is very important for the long-term success of the implants. On average, this period lasts from 2 to 6 months. It’s important to maintain good oral hygiene during this time as well as any other medical advice, and avoid excessive force or trauma to the implant sites.

Keeping up a good oral hygiene routine is essential for your implants to succeed long term. We recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush, interdental brushes or floss, and anti-microbial mouthwash. It is also very important to keep up with regular hygiene appointments and dental checkups. During the treatment process, Dr Uzman will give you more detailed instructions on how to care for your new teeth.

It is entirely normal to experience some discomfort and swelling following an all-on-6 dental implant procedure. However, most patients will find this manageable with prescribed medication for the first 24-48 hours, and over-the-counter medicines such as ibuprofen and paracetamol. We might also recommend applying cold packs to the affected areas to reduce swelling.

However, this discomfort should subside after a week; if it persists, please do not hesitate to contact us.
